Dear Prudence

Hey loves, my next post is a “Dear Prudence” Song Spotlight. Check out the Poylvore here. I picked bright and cheery colors for the outfits because this song makes me smile.

“Dear Prudence” was released on November 22, 1968 on “The White Album.”

Accoding to Wikipedia, the song was written for Prudence Farrow, actress Mia Farrow’s sister, who was present when the Beatles went to India to study with Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. Farrow became so serious about her meditation that she rarely ever came out of her cottage, so John Lennon wrote the song for her.

Wikipedia describes the song as “simple and innocent,” with “praise the beauty of nature in the lines: the sun is up, the sky is blue, it’s beautiful and so are you.” This song is actually one of 17 Beatles songs that mentions the sun or sunshine.

I also love this song for the scene from the movie “Across the Universe.” Watch it below.

Stay tuned for more!

Hey Jude!

Hello loves!

Today’s next post is a Song Spotlight for the song “Hey Jude.” Check out the Polyvore here.

“Hey Jude” was released on August 28, 1968 with “Revolution” on the B-side. The song evolved from “Hey Jules” a song Paul McCartney wrote to comfort John Lennon’s son, Julian during his parents’ divorce. (So sweet of Paul!) Lennon was separating from his wife Cynthia because of his affair with Yoko Ono.

Anyway, this song was the first single released from the Beatles’ record label Apple Records. “Hey Jude” is over seven minutes long, but every minute counts. It is the longest single to ever top British charts and stayed at number one for sixteen weeks. It also topped the American charts for nine weeks.

I just really love this ballad song – everything about it. I love the music, lyrics and message. Watch the video below.

Until next time, Beatles fans. Nah nah nah nah nah nah, nah nah nah, hey Jude!

Peace and love. Let it be.

Great and Exciting Updates

Hi loves, I almost forgot to update all my Beatles bloggers about my fun weekend at Universal Studios. Instead of posting the same blog post twice, click here to read about my trip!

In just one week, I’m going on a cruise to Honduras and Cozumel! Woohoo! So of course, I needed to finally purchase my fancy Canon camera that I’ve been internet stalking for several months. Check it out, so beautiful. I still haven’t picked a name yet though. My first thought was “Broke” since that’s how I felt right after I bought it, haha (just keeping it real).

But, don’t worry about money woes – great and exciting things are on the way. Besides, what’s the point of having money if you’re never going to spend it? Instead of sitting on it and moping around about college life no money days, I’m living my life, my loves!

Anyway, there are several posts I’m long overdue to write so stay tuned for more this week. After this last week of classes I’ll be free of school and class responsibilities for a little while. Then, I’ll get a good schedule going for blog posts instead of all these random ones. Stay with me, please. I beg you, haha.

Peace and love. Let it be.

Hey Jude Polyvore

Hi Beatles loves! I’m sorry if it seems I have abandoned you all for a few days. The truth is many exciting (and also sad) things have been happening. I seemed to have abandoned my fashion blog loves too, so don’t feel too bad.

For one, a fellow classmate from my high school passed away in a car accident last week. Our graduating class had about 200+ people, so everyone knew everyone. It’s been very sad and shocking to hear this news. He was even married to one of my other friends from high school and I just can’t imagine what she’s going through. It’s all very surreal. Rest in peace Conner.

For two, my summer classes and internship have been kicking my butt. Homework assignments, exams, quizzes, internship stories and work at Publix five days a week has gotten a little bit overwhelming with my “lack thereof legit sleep schedule.” Haha. Thankfully, assignments are settling down so here am I. Thanks for sticking with me.

My one of two exciting news happening is that I’m going to Universal with one of my best friends next weekend and we’re definitely spending the day at the Harry Potter world. I’ve been once before during my high school senior class trip, but I didn’t really get to enjoy it. So I’m super excited for next weekend. My second exciting news announcement will have to wait for a later date.

So today’s post is a quick Polyvore of the song “Hey Jude”! Side note, I really love this song and will post a Song Spotlight soon enough. I do realize that is sort of a happy lovey song and my board is all blue stuff, but bear with me I hadn’t had the highest spirits later. Anyway, enjoy the post and stay tuned for more.

Peace and love. Let it be.
