Hi loves!

Today’s Song Spotlight is for the song “All You Need is Love”! Check out the Polyvore here!

This song was first performed on “Our World” the first live global television link-up. Over 150 million people from 26 different countries watched the broadcast on June 25, 1967.

From the Beatles Anthology, Ringo Starr said, “We were big enough to command an audience of that size, and it was for love. It was for love and bloody peace. It was a fabulous time. I even get excited now when I realize that’s what it was for: peace and love, people putting flowers in guns.”

The song was then released as a single on July 7, 1967. “Baby, You’re a Rich Man” was on the B-side. “All You Need is Love” topped the UK at number one for three weeks. This song is also on the albums “Yellow Submarine” and “Magical Mystery Tour.”

According to Wikipedia, the Beatles were asked to create a message that everyone would understand.  “All You Need is Love” is a worldwide message.

The Beatles manager, Brian Epstein said, “It was an inspired song and they really wanted to give the world a message. The nice thing about it is that it cannot be misinterpreted. It is a clear message saying that love is everything.”

Check out a video of “All You Need is Love” below.

Stay tuned for more Song Spotlights soon! I have to catch up on songs from all the Polyvore boards I’ve posted, haha! In the meantime, check out my fashion blog too!

Eleanor Rigby Polyvore

Hello loves! I made a Polyvore for the song “Eleanor Rigby”! Check out my Song Spotlight post here!

For this song, I made three different styles of black and white outfits. The first is a casual daytime outfit of a simple striped shirt and jeans with Converse sneakers.

The second outfit is also for daytime, a pair of patterned shorts with a black crop top. It is perfect for the spring time with the strappy sandals.

The third outfit is for the nightime, a classy dress paired with black heels and a crossbody bag.

I’m a Loser

Hi loves!

Don’t worry I haven’t forgotten about my faithful Beatles fans!

My fashion blog has officially taken off! Check it out here, Styled by Just Jasmin.

Today’s Song Spotlight is “I’m a Loser” from the Beatles fourth album “Beatles for Sale” in 1964. I found a list of uncommon and underrated Beatles songs and this song was at the top of the list. I had never heard it before, but it’s pretty great! The song is about someone who messed up and lost his love. The lyrics are simple but thoughtful.

From beatlesinterviews.org here are two quotes from John Lennon and Paul McCartney.

I’M A LOSER

(Lennon/McCartney)

JOHN 1980: “That’s me in my Dylan period. Part of me suspects I’m a loser, and part of me thinks I’m God almighty.” (laughs)
PAUL circa-1994: “We used to listen to alot of country and western songs and they were all about sadness and ‘I lost my truck’ so it was quite acceptable to sing ‘I’m a loser.’ You really didn’t think about it at the time, it’s only later you’d think, God! That was pretty brave of John. ‘I’m a Loser’ was very much John’s song and there may have been a dabble or two from me.”

There will be more posts coming soon!

Peace and love. Let it be.
